Vitamin C

Vitamin C contributes to immune defence by supporting various cellular functions of both the innate and adaptive immune system. Vitamin C supports epithelial barrier function against pathogens and promotes the oxidant scavenging activity of the skin, thereby potentially protecting against environmental oxidative stress.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D receptors are present in many cell types including various immune cells such as antigen-presenting-cells, T cells, B cells and monocytes. Data from human vitamin D supplementation studies have shown beneficial effects on immune function, in particular in the context of autoimmunity.

Vitamin K2

Scientific support points to vitamin K’s role in the modulation of the cell signalling complex, nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-kB). This major transcription factor helps regulate genes responsible for both the innate and adaptive immune response. Directions
